Australia Day at South Bank

Australia Day is a great opportunity to gather with friends and family, and while the traditional back-yard gathering is always a great time, sometimes it’s more fun when someone else hosts. If you’re strapped for out-of-the-box ideas for Australia Day celebrations this year, South Bank is hosting a huge gathering on the banks of the Brisbane River complete with great live entertainment from local musicians. Soak up the sun and relax to the sounds of Queensland Music Award-winning group Bearfoot, indie-folk outfit Hollow Coves and local heroes The Fergies, or arrive around sunset in time to catch the evening fireworks display. Pack a picnic had head to South Bank’s River Quay (or grab some goodies from some of South Banks stellar retailers) and take the fuss out of Australia Day.
