Event:  –
Be bold, be brave, be brilliant
Brisbane’s premier arts and cultural event, the Brisbane Festival is set to return this September to marvel audiences with a curated multi-arts program of sensational, edgy and entertaining performances and activities.
From 3 to 25 September 2021, Brisbane will embrace captivating entertainment as it hosts music, art, installations, dramatic performances and more.
Known as being a festival that “creates the art that enlivens, delights and disrupts”, the 2021 program will again do just that. It had its beginnings as the Warana Festival in 1961 and has grown and developed over the decades which have followed to mature into a sensational arts festival for the senses and for all ages.

The 23-day long festival will impressively feature 63 talented Queensland companies and employ over 1000 local artists – that’s got to be good news.

Some of the highlights to look out for this year include:

The first stage and much-anticipated adaption of Brisbane based novel,Boy Swallows UniverseTrent Dalton’s popular and award-winning debut book will be brought to life explores love, family, criminality and what it means to be a good man while growing up as a boy in Brisbane.

Musical performances by Channel Nine presenter David Campbell, get loud with the dynamic noise of WAXX and the serene beauty of Kate Miller Heidke.

Brisbane’s Art Boat of floating art installation, bar and performances with cruises along the beautiful Brisbane River from North Shore to Southbank.

BOQ Festival Garden at Southbank Piazza with circus, cabaret and performances

Brisbane Festival venues are scattered across the city and include The Tivoli, Southbank, the Brisbane Powerhouse and more.

After all of that fun, the festival will end with a bang with the community favourite – the Sunsuper Riverfire fireworks and aeronautical extravaganza as fireworks set to a musical score light up the River city.
