Brisbane Oktoberfest

By George Hadgelias

Oktoberfest Brisbane is back for its tenth year, so if your mind isn’t already wandering to steins and pork knuckle then you’re doing it very wrong. There ain’t no party like a German party, and we’ve got the stats to prove it – our very own River City edition of the München-born celebration ranks in the top ten internationally, putting us up there with the best in the whole wide world.

Bring your family and friends to the Brisbane Showgrounds and experience the atmosphere and spectacle that is Oktoberfest Brisbane over two huge weekends. See the showgrounds transformed into a mini Bavaria, showcasing some of Germany’s finest. Indulge from the vast selection of food including some of the classics (we’re talking bratwurst, pork knuckle, schnitzel and cakes), not to mention the specially brewed German beers. It makes for a truly delectable cultural experience!

Entertain your senses with yodeller Heidi, Alpenrosen Dance Group and Oktoberfest’s very own Bavarian Oompah band, and don’t forget to get front row seats to the festival’s coveted competitions –Miss Oktoberfest Brisbane, Beardmeister and Bavarian Strongmen. Every day is different and every day is exciting! Embrace your inner German, don your dirndl and lederhosen – this year promises to be incredible as Oktoberfest Brisbane celebrates its tenth birthday!

Oktoberfest Brisbane is over two weekends, October 6–8 and 13–15. Times are:
Fridays 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
Saturdays 11:00 am to 12:00 am
Sundays 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
