Let your imagination roam free when Curiocity Brisbane returns from June 24 to July 11, for a 17-day celebration of science, art and technology, where new possibilities play and big ideas collide. The festival will transform Brisbane into a world of discovery with more than 20 Curiocities taking over The City.
So what are these Curiocities, you ask? They’re an eye-popping collection of 20 never-before-seen installations created by local and international artists and makers. Curious visitors of all ages can explore, create and play with the physical and digital Curiocities scattered across four precincts – the City Botanic Gardens, South Bank, South Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct, and the Brisbane CBD. Highlights include the interactive public sculpture, OHCE/ECHO, which uses live generative animation, high-end facial capture technology that allows audiences to imbed themselves into the artwork, and In The Air, an immersive light and soundscape that uses hypnotic music and mesmerising light to visualise chemical changes in the Earth’s atmosphere.
