LUMINOUS Lantern Parade

By George Hadgelias

The LUMINOUS Lantern Parade invites all of us to say a heartfelt welcome to all people who are choosing to call Queensland home.

Thousands of locals are set light to up Brisbane in support of multicultural communities, gathering for Multicultural Australia’s 14th annual LUMINOUS Lantern Parade to welcome new Queenslanders.

From humble beginnings to becoming the state’s most iconic celebration of multiculturalism, this year’s LUMINOUS Lantern Parade will light up South Brisbane on Friday June 4 which will form part of an immersive program of events right across Queensland to celebrate Queensland Day.

The larger-than-life Lantern Parade is a free event for all Queenslanders to attend and will end at South Bank Parklands with a world concert in South Bank Pizza. The concert is set to feature a Welcome to Country by Nunukul Yuggera, Brisbane headliners The Mad Mariachi, crowd favourite the Unbreakable Dance Crew, Sahara Dance Company, Brisbane North Chinese Group, Imanzi Rwandan Drumming Group, Cachicamo Latin Harp, Bolivia Marka and more.
