Oktoberfest Brisbane

By Addy Whitburn

Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to don your Dirndl and Lederhosen and get ready to celebrate all things German at Oktoberfest Brisbane 2019, Australia’s largest German festival!

Connect with fellow culture-seeking enthusiasts and foodies at the Brisbane Showgrounds Oktober 11–13 and 18–20 and see the space transformed with the event’s famous Bavarian flair.

From schnitzels to pretzels and everything in between, your taste buds will be set alight while indulging in all the authentic flavours and treats the festival has to offer.

A spectacular line-up of live entertainment is set to ignite the Oktoberfest Tent with music by the Bavarian Oompah band ‘Münchner Buam’, Heidi the Yodeller and Alpenrosen Dance Group.

Proceedings will kick off with a bang Friday Oktober 11 when Anzapfen takes place – think of it like the opening ceremony of Oktoberfest complete with keg tapping, VIP guests and all of the official merriment!

Kids will find hours of entertainment in our epic KinderZone, with traditional German performances, craft activities, and free rides on both Sundays at the festival for minors.

Feel up to the challenge? The crowd favourite Miss Oktoberfest Brisbane and Bavarian Strongmen competitions are back to see who has what it takes to be crowned champion, so now’s the time to start your training! Motoring enthusiasts will delight in the Autoshow showcasing vintage, classic or late model German motor cars, bikes or trucks – it’s a vintage vibe and a must-do for lovers of all things on wheels.

Take a break after a jam-packed day of German fun in our Munich Biergarten, where you can relax and soak up the atmosphere of Oktoberfest Brisbane while sipping on a world-class German beer.

You won’t want to miss this cultural extravaganza! There’s no better place in Australia to embrace your inner German than at Oktoberfest Brisbane 2019, so join us at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Oktoberfest Brisbane is over two weekends, October 11–13 and 18–20. Times are:
Fridays from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
Saturdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 am
