Rotary Laptop Cause
The Rotary Club of Paddington proudly supports wonderful initiatives that help local communities. One particular initiative, which was started by the club is called, “Teacher in a Box”. This initiative basically uses re-purposed laptop computers that act as a server and comes pre-loaded with educational content, a router configured to create a local area network and an instruction booklet. Currently, ‘Teacher in a Box’ is being used in Africa, The Pacific Islands and throughout Asia providing educational resources in many rural villages. Access to this educational material through ‘Teacher in a Box’ is having massively positive impact on the communities.
The demand for the ‘Teacher in a Box’ program is huge! If you are able to help at all by donating unwanted laptops with minimum Windows 7 OS or better, would be appreciated.
If you have any questions or would like to know how to donate, contact Nicholas Hall on 0432 625 180 or nicholas.hall@raywhite.com.
