Paniyiri Greek Festival Online

By George Hadgelias

Over four decades Paniyiri Greek Festival has grown to become Queensland’s signature celebration of all things Greek and the state’s largest cultural festival as well as the country’s longest running Greek festival – an admirable success story for the celebration that started in 1976 when a group of passionate Greek Australians wanted to share their cultural traditions with Brisbane. Fast forward to 2020 and this kaleidoscopic cultural explosion is now legendary. Following the cancellation of this year’s festival, the folks behind Paniyiri Greek Festival decided to move their celebrations online.

Join in on the Paniyiri Facebook Live celebrations from 2:00–4:00 pm this Sunday May 24. There will be:

  • Greek cooking demonstrations
  • Live Bouzouki sessions
  • Learn to dance the Zorba!
  • Learn about Greek costumes
  • Plus, Nostimo Restaurant is celebrating Paniyiri with delicious takeaway specials all weekend!

Pop over to the Paniyiri Greek Festival Facebook page on Sunday to celebrate all things Greek!
