The Iconic Queen Street Mall is Turning 40 – and You’re Invited to the Party!

Pop your party hats on and hightail it to The City – Queen Street Mall is having a big birthday bash and everyone is invited! The iconic shopping strip is turning 40 and to celebrate the momentous occasion is hosting a celebration to remember on Friday August 26. The mall will transform into a vibrant day-long street party bursting at the seams with live entertainment, night markets, style workshops, pop-up bars and much more. The best part? You don’t even have to buy a present!
Brisbane’s much-loved shopping destination, Queen Street Mall, is celebrating its 40th birthday later this month and we get to reap all of the sweet, sweet benefits. From 10:00 am on Friday August 26, party goers can soak up live entertainment, sip bubbles from a pop-up champagne bar located at Jimmy’s on the Mall and get their hands on roaming surprise giveaways. Shoppers with a penchant for discovering the most stylish threads can head to the Queen Street Mall Stage, which will be fashion central. Ambassador and fashion queen Annabel Falco will be hosting the Spring Style Sessions from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You’ll get all of the inspo you need for the coming season with everything from beauty masterclasses through to spring-trend styling sessions, as well as curated edits and workshops with brands like Sass & Bide, Cue, Sheike, Country Road and more. With spring on the horizon and a wardrobe refresh imminent, you know where to catch us.When the sun starts to set, Queen Street Mall’s 40th celebrations really amp up. From 4:00 pm–9:00 pm, visitors are invited to treat their senses to tantalising eats and toe-tapping beats at an exclusive Friday night markets in Reddacliff Place. Down in the mall, there will be fashion runways showcasing the latest spring/summer collections throughout the evening from 5:00 pm, as well as headline performers levelling up the celebratory vibe. Homegrown superstars Vanessa Amorosi and Kate Ceberano will both be playing on the evening, with Kate serenading audiences from 5:30 pm and Vanessa taking the stage at 6:30 pm. To keep the party sparkling all night long, the champagne pop-up bar will be continuing until 11:00 pm.On top of the extravagant Friday soiree, history lovers can take a stroll down memory lane to celebrate Queen Street Mall’s 40-year milestone. From August 9–26, the mall will house a photo display chronicling the precinct’s rich history, as well as historical markers to signify special occasions and locations.
