Judi O’Dea
1955 – 2026
“Ironclad persistence and a great frock.”

Judi O’Dea was more than one of Queensland’s most respected real estate agents—she was a force of nature, a spark of colour, and a beloved friend to all who knew her. Over the weekend, we said goodbye to someone whose laughter, wisdom, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on our community.
Paddington is a little less bright without her, but her legacy, her stories, and her incomparable style will live on in all of us who had the privilege to know her.
Long live Judi O’Dea
“Judi and Michael sold our family home October 2025. Judi was so vibrant and dynamic in her approach, so gentle, kind – always immaculately dressed and looking fabulous! It is no surprise to hear that her motto was “It is never too late to be great.” She wore her experience and wisdom lightly, I was so sorry to hear of her passing. Please give our deepest condolences to Judi’s family and her colleagues for this terrible loss, may she Rest In Peace.”

“Rest in peace, Judi. Working with you was a gift – you brought so much style to every listing. Your videos constantly play in my home, and they’ve become family favorites being quoted. They’re a piece of you that we are lucky enough to keep. Thank you for seeing something in me and giving me a chance. You are one of a kind and your absence will be deeply felt.”

“I am truly heartbroken over the loss of such a bright and beautiful woman. She had the most incredible light about her — the kind that made everyone around her feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. I feel so grateful to have known her and to have shared moments that I will always hold close to my heart. She will be deeply missed, not just for who she was, but for how she made people feel. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in Peace Judi 🤍”

“I dealt with Judi way back in 2012. I was an overseas prospect buyer. She was super professional and extremely good at selling. I loved her videos and would watch them on and off over the years. Very sad news of her passing. My condolences to all her family and team. Rest in peace Judi you have lived life to the max.”
“Our sympathies and prayers are with Judi’s family at this time. Judi was an exceptional woman who brought energy and professionalism to her clients and all she interacted with. A sudden and unexpected loss of this magnitude is profound and heartbreaking for those closest to her, her husband Patrick, her family and Michael.”

“How do you farewell someone like Judi? Fair to say you’d start with a great frock.. What a force of nature Judi has been, living her best life, connecting with people, making a real difference and being authentically and unapologetically herself! I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know Judi and oh how I’ll miss those ad hoc phone calls from her. There aren’t too many people I’ve met with a beautiful blend of self confidence and love and care for people – they really broke the mould when they made Judi. To her family, to Michael, I’m thinking of you and I’m sending my condolences. Judi, may you be listing all the clouds in the sky and auctioning them all off one by one. I’ll miss you x”
“Judi was my first boss at Mumma Bubba Big Kid store at Milton. She taught me how to sell kid’s fashion, and always inspired me with her own fashion style, telling me that Studibaker was her favourite brand. She was so bright-faced and welcoming to customers, always greeting them by opening the red door to the store, and saying “Good mooorning” in that way she did. I copied her and did the same when she was not in store. I followed her real estate journey by watching her posts online. My condolences to the wonderful Patrick, Harriet and Eugene.”

Thinking of your family, colleagues and friends and this sad time.”

“Hard to put into words, Judi was an amazing woman! It was a pleasure to spend the last 7 years with her. Her energy for life and her craft was inspiring. Always so positive, upbeat, great life advice and seemed to never have a worry in the world, she could light up any room. I always used to look forward to our kitchen chats and hear her yell out “Chicken Man” each day and have a laugh. My condolences to her family and friends. We will never forget you!”

“It is so hard to imagine our streets without Judi’s enthusiasm and strong advocacy of everything that is great about Paddington. Judi made us love our little neighbourhood just that bit more. Judi’s clients experienced beautiful empathy tempered with beautifully timed reality checks; all delivered with charm and old school perfect manners. Those who had the experience of selling or buying with Judi know that she was just unique in the best of ways. We will not be alone as clients who became friends over the years, what a unique gift Judi had to draw in so many, to forge genuine and long lasting relationships. We cannot imagine the sense of loss within team Judi. To Patrick, Harriet, Eugene, Michael, all family, and to the Ray White group, all please accept our deep sympathy at the loss of the brightest spark in the most stunning frock.”

“Judi leaves behind a sadness that speaks to how special she was. Though I didn’t know her for long, she made a lasting impression in the most wonderful way. Judi was truly spectacular. Generous with her time, full of warmth, and a joy to be around. It was a privilege to have worked with her, and I will always treasure our chats in the kitchen, especially our conversations about fashion of course. Her sparkle, kindness, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed.”

“I’m shocked and saddened to hear this news. I first met Judi when she ran Mumma Bubba Big Kid in Milton and I’d buy clothes for my two young boys. We often ran into one another in the neighbourhood and Judi on occasion helped me look for a new home over the years. Always warm, wise and professional – and yes those videos were always engaging. Deepest condolences to Michael and family. 🙏🏼”
“Judi first become a legend in our home when we started dreaming of a move from Canberra to Brisbane back in 2020. Judi’s property videos were so fun and vibrant. We did finally make the move and I still remember the first open home where we met Judi… my husband was a fan, and let her know straight away! From there Judi would see us at many open homes over the years… We were trying to figure out what the best move would be for us, but Judi just knew, she knew exactly what we needed before we did. Selling or buying your home are some of the biggest moves you make in life, Judi was there for us, a powerhouse full of life, energy and joy! She will be deeply missed. Deepest sympathies to the most caring and loving family, Judi was always supported by you all! We are thinking of you all during this time.”
– Sophie and Connor Vidas
“Oh my goodness, I am unconscionable, Judi sold two of my homes with compassion & empathy. I am not apprehensive of what has happened. I am a business woman who admired her so much …. what a lady…It is going to take a while to comprehend. Who is going to sell all my properties in Paddington & Red Hill now? I only relied on Judi.”
“Love you, you are so special always. 👩🦳💜”
“Dearest Judi, our chance run in at a restaurant in South Bank changed the trajectory of our life. We had the most wonderful, joyful couple of years working with you and Michael, navigating Patrick’s wild video ideas (Architect Furst Aprel!!) and celebrating each beautiful unique house that was lucky enough to become “a Judi O’Dea property”. There’s no one like you, and certainly no one who justifies a new Scanlan &Theodore two piece set because it goes with the kitchen of her new listing. Our love for you, your presence, enthusiasm, generosity, humour and life lessons you shared with us will last forever. All our love to your family.”
– Kait and Michael
“Honesty, humour and a dash of humility are how we shall remember Judi. She called two weeks ago to follow up on the sale with Friday night champagne, which will now sadly have to take place without her spirited presence. Our toast to her shall be simple but profound, both in gratitude and grace: To dear Judi, whose sparkle, smile and great good sense made the stress of buying or selling a home just a little bit less of a burden and more of a shared possibility. You opened so many doors for so many people and now one great door has closed behind you and we mourn we shall not see you again.”
“Though brief, our interaction was anything but evanescent. Early morning training won’t ever be the same. Deepest condolences to the family. x”
